Phasor to present groundbreaking antenna technology for the aviation sector at GVF Aero-Connect Event

Washington D.C., 9th November 2016: Phasor will present its electronically steerable antenna (ESA) to the satellite and aviation industry at the GVF Aero-Connect 2016 conference. The event, to be held in London on November 11, is themed ‘The In-Flight Online Revolution’ and will focus on the very latest developments inbroadband communications for commercial air travel and the demand that is being created by passengers that want to stay connected with family, friends and work colleagues at 35,000 feet.

The opportunity for the satellite industry to enable high speed broadband access on board aircraft is significant. Research carried out by analyst firm, Euroconsult in their report, ‘Prospects for In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity’, found that total revenues from passenger connectivity services are expected to grow from $700 million in 2015 to nearly $5.4 billion by 2025, a 23% CAGR over the 10-year period.

The event programme will seek to characterize the prime drivers and the nature and scale of the investments being made today and tomorrow by key market players for the provision of infrastructure for the current and future generations of in-flight connectivity.

Phasor will participate on the Terminal Equipment panel to highlight the ways in which its technology will empower mobile broadband services to the aviation sector - both business jets and commercial passenger aircraft. The unique size and scalability of the Phasor ESA will allow service providers and aircraft operators to create very high gain/high performance antenna arrays, resulting in dramatically higher speed broadband connectivity and greater geographical coverage, at a much lower installation and operating cost. The Phasor ESAs are just 1 inch think and are conformal so that they integrate easily with the fuselage of an aircraft.

“We are looking forward to participating in this GVF event and to showcasing our unique solution which is a true game-changer for the aviation broadband market” said David Helfgott, CEO of Phasor. “This sector requires a dynamic antenna solution that can meet its many requirements, in terms of integration, performance and flexibility. The Phasor antenna system will transform connectivity on board aircraft and we are grateful to GVF for this opportunity.”
